One of the nicest and best looking families in the
sport, Jerry, Terry and Brian Larson of Holdrege, Nebraska. Brian's
one of the most promising young riders on our circuit, smoking the B class
in his first year on the big bikes, he's got the A class in his
sights. His smile is a little goofy because he just biffed it good
on the triple jump and got his bell rung. Everybody was crashing
today. I even crashed hard and I never crash. |

Ron and Rod are two guys that can give me fits in the
Over 40 class. Even if I pull the hole-shot and open up a 10 second
lead, I can be sure that one of these two is going to cause me some
problems before the race is over. If Rod pulls the hole-shot, just
wave by-by. |

One of the cool but humbling aspects of racing the Vet
classes is that you regularly get smoked by some of the young hot shots
like Craig Fritz. These kids have no respect for their elders!
Craig and his dad Steve make a few last minute adjustments before he goes
out to teach some lessons in humility. |

Joe and I have known each other for years and we never
realized that the other was an MXer until Joe's MX cancer came out of
remission this year and he had no choice but to buy a new bike and take
weekly 2-stroke oil treatments. That's Joes dad and head mechanic
Wayne. I won all my races today except for the one in which Joe beat
me. In fact, that's exactly what happened last week. With
friends like that....... |
